Armenian authorities are implementing new regulations to mitigate construction-related air pollution in urban areas, according to a statement from the country's Urban Development Committee.

Under the new rules, construction firms will be required to monitor dust and harmful emissions at their worksites. Companies must install air purification systems and equip sites with air quality monitoring equipment, as reported by NEWS.am.

Special requirements will also be imposed on temporary roads leading to such sites: they will be required to have a concrete surface, and their shoulders will be covered with a layer of gravel to prevent dust formation.

Builders will also be required to properly equip the construction site with material conveyors, dust barriers, and organize regular cleaning, the Committee added.
