Vladimir Putin extends birthday wishes to Ilham Aliyev on his 64th birthday

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on his 64th birthday today, wishing the Azerbaijani leader health, prosperity and every success, according to a congratulatory telegram published by the Kremlin press service.

"Under your leadership, Azerbaijan has achieved internationally recognised socioeconomic success, consistently strengthening its standing on the global stage," Vladimir Putin said.

The Russian leader specifically noted in his message that Russia and Azerbaijan are building their relations on the basis of cooperation and partnership. He emphasized that such an approach fully serves the interests of the Russian and Azerbaijani peoples.
