Kyrgyzstan to buy Kazakh gas

Today the Intergovernmental Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic, with the participation of Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov and the head of the Kyrgyz government, Akmazbek Atambayev, held a meeting in Bishkek, Trend reports.

At a joint final briefing Massimov said that participants in the meeting reached a number of important agreements in the field of energy and agriculture. According to new agreements, Kazakhstan will purchase electricity from Kyrgyzstan, while Kyrgyzstan will purchase Kazakh gas.

The two sides also agreed to establish a joint investment fund.
