Armenian parliament introduces biometric passports

The parliament of Armenia adopted a bill on biometric passports in the first reading today, News.am reports. The bill sets out basic provisions on the issuance of biometric passports and ID cards. The latter will serve for the identification inside the country while passports will be used for international travel.


ID cards will be valid for 10 years and passports for five years.
