Uzbekistan’s GDP exceeds $145 billion for the first time

The Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced that the country's GDP has surpassed $145 billion for the first time.

"Nine years ago, reaching a $100 billion economy seemed like a monumental goal to us; we didn't even know such figures. This year, our GDP has exceeded the $145 billion mark for the first time in our history",

Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

According to the President, Uzbekistan has significantly improved its technological sovereignty, ranking within the top ten of the World Bank's Technological Maturity Index.

 

"According to the World Bank's Technological Maturity Index, the country climbed 71 positions to 9th place, demonstrating rapid progress",

Mirziyoyev said.

Data from the National Statistics Committee shows that Uzbekistan's economy grew by 7.6% in the first nine months of the year.
