White House announces phone call between Putin and Trump

 

A telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart, Donald Trump, took place today, according to a statement released by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

According to Leavitt's statement, the conversation has concluded and has been assessed by Washington as constructive, focusing primarily on the situation in Ukraine.

Earlier today, the Russian and US leaders' conversation was announced by Dmitry Peskov, the Russian leader's press secretary. The Kremlin spokesman explained that the telephone conversation would take place very soon.
