The Saudi Arabia-led coalition has conducted an airstrike on two vessels heading from the United Arab Emirates to the Yemeni port of Al-Mukalla without official permission.

"This morning, the coalition’s forces carried out a limited military operation, targeting weapons and military equipment unloaded from two ships," SPA news agency reported.

According to the report, the vessels’ crews had switched off their tracking systems and unloaded large quantities of weapons and military equipment intended to support forces of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in the governorates of Hadhramaut and Al-Mahrah, with the aim of fueling the conflict.

Later, the alliance said the operation by the Saudi-led coalition at the port of the Yemeni city of Mukalla has concluded without casualties.

Earlier, the coalition announced the start of a limited military operation in Yemen’s Hadhramaut Governorate following the seizure of the port of Al-Mukalla by the STC.
