Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan commented on Russian-Armenian relations and the choice Armenia may face in the future - between being a member of the EAEU or the EU.
First and foremost, the FM stressed that Armenia does not plan to sever ties with Russia. The Armenian government has no such agenda and is not pursuing such a policy, he assured. Deepening Armenia's relations with the EU will not negatively impact Yerevan's dialogue with Moscow, the diplomat added.
He also pointed out that within the EAEU framework, Armenia, as its member, engages in advantageous cooperation.
If Yerevan faces a choice between membership in the European Union and the EAEU in the future, this issue will become a subject of discussion, the minister said.
"We are currently a member state of the EAEU, and we have advantageous cooperation within its framework. If in the future the question of a choice between EU and EAEU membership arises, we will all sit down, think about it, and it will become a subject of discussion," Ararat Mirzoyan said.
