Rubio discusses Yemen with Saudi Arabian FM

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a phone call with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Tuesday, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

During the call, the two officials discussed developments in the region and efforts being made regarding them.

The U.S. State Department said ongoing ​tensions ‌in Yemen and regional security were discussed during the call.

The phone call came after the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen conducted a "limited military operation" targeting a shipment of weapons and combat vehicles linked to the UAE at southern Yemen’s Mukalla port. A state of emergency was imposed in Yemen for 90 days.
