Payments by Azerbaijani airlines for using Armenia’s airspace increased fivefold last year, according to data from Armenia’s Civil Aviation Committee.

From January 1 to November 30 of last year, Azerbaijani carriers transferred 396,282 euros to the Armenian air navigation service, Armaeronavigatsia.

In 2023, the corresponding payments amounted to approximately 90,000 euros and were primarily for flights to and from the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The significant rise is attributed to Azerbaijani airlines' expanded use of Armenian airspace for flights to third countries.
