Türkiye said it was in talks with Damascus and Washington to resolve the clashes between the Syrian government forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been closely following developments as MIT is in contact with the U.S. and Syrian authorities and conveying messages, according to sources.

Developments are also being monitored in close coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Defence, with MIT personnel on the ground operating on a 24/7 basis, the sources said.

“President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is being regularly briefed, and the National Intelligence Organization (MIT) is speaking with the Syrian government and the U.S. to resolve the events peacefully,” security sources said.

The Syrian army has seized control of the Ashrafiyeh and Beni Zaid neighbourhoods after fighting, sources added, while military operations continue in Sheikh Maqsoud.

The Syrian army has declared a unilateral ceasefire in Aleppo’s conflict zones, offering the YPG a path to withdraw east of the Euphrates River, preventing further clashes.
