Armenian mine explosion injures deminer in Aghdere district

 

According to the Azerbaijani Mine Action Agency (ANAMA), another mine incident occurred this afternoon. Elvin Karimov stepped on an antipersonnel mine planted by Armenian occupation forces during the Karabakh War while conducting demining operations in the Aghdere district of Azerbaijan.

The incident occurred this afternoon during clearance operations in the village of Giziloba. Karimov, was working for a non-governmental organization when the explosion occurred, resulting in the traumatic amputation of his right foot.

Karimov was promptly evacuated to a hospital and received necessary medical care. Doctors currently assess his condition as stable, ANAMA reports.
