Two reservoirs to be constructed in liberated territories of Azerbaijan
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaWork on the construction of the 'Hakarichay' and 'Bargushadchay' reservoirs, with an estimated total capacity of over 150 million cubic meters, is set to begin this year, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said.
The large-scale project to build the two major 'Hakarichay' and 'Bargushadchay' reservoirs will be implemented in the Karabakh and East Zangazur regions, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said during a meeting dedicated to the State Program for 2026-2035 on improving water supply, wastewater, and stormwater systems in the city of Baku and the Absheron Peninsula
"We will probably start tangible work there this year," Ilham Aliyev said.
The 'Hakarichay' reservoir is expected to provide high-quality drinking water to over 1.8 million residents of the capital, as well as to the population of the liberated districts of Lachin, Gubadli, Zangilan, Jabrayil, Fuzuli, and Aghdam.
The capacity of 'Hakarichay' will be 91 million cubic meters, and the capacity of 'Bargushadchay' is calculated at 67 million cubic meters.
