Georgian authorities concerned about German ambassador's meeting with Georgian youth

Shalva Papuashvili's deputy asked the German ambassador to Georgia why he arranged the meeting with Georgian political activists and what was actually discussed behind closed doors.

Georgian Parliament Deputy Speaker Gia Volsky demanded that German Ambassador Peter Fischer explain the purpose of his meeting two days ago with Georgian youth representatives known for their participation in anti-government protests.

"We are awaiting clarification from the German ambassador: what does such a meeting with representatives of politically involved groups, including extremist ones, mean?"

– Gia Volsky said.

According to Volsky, the government and the ruling Georgian Dream party are prepared to repel any attack on Georgian statehood.
