Foreign airlines to operate domestic flights in Russia

Russian Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin stated that not only domestic but also foreign companies will be able to operate flights between Russian cities.

"The primary goal of Russian carriers is domestic flights. But we think that foreign companies will also operate flights within Russia. We are also working on this. Cabotage is currently legally permitted, so we are waiting",

Andrey Nikitin said in an interview with TASS.

The Minister added that passenger traffic for Russian airlines is unlikely to see significant growth in the near term, as their aircraft fleets are not increasing.
