According to Armenian media, Armenia is set to receive its first shipment of Russian LNG, which will be transported by rail through Azerbaijan.

Armenian authorities are developing this new route due to current difficulties with shipments from Iran and traffic restrictions at the Upper Lars border crossing.

"The problem will be resolved very soon, as LNG imports to Armenia will begin by rail, and Russian LNG will very soon be delivered to Armenia through the territory of Azerbaijan",

Lilit Shaboyan, press secretary of the Armenian Ministry of Economy reported.

Shaboyan did not specify an exact date, but stated that deliveries would begin "soon".

Let us remind you that cargo began arriving in Armenia via Azerbaijan at the end of last year. Armenia received its first batch of grain and also began receiving gasoline and diesel fuel from Azerbaijan.
