Establishment of Palestinian state is key to peace in the Middle East, Lavrov says

Russia supports Palestinian statehood and is open to dialogue with the United States on the work of Trump's Peace Council to resolve the situation in the Gaza Strip, Sergey Lavrov said.

Resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and achieving stability in the Middle East is impossible without implementing the United Nations resolution on the establishment of a Palestinian state, Sergey Lavrov, head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said at a conference on the events of the past year and the results achieved by Russian diplomacy.

Earlier, the Russian side confirmed that President Vladimir Putin received an invitation sent by US President Donald Trump, who initiated the creation of a new regulatory and oversight body for the Gaza Strip.
