Terrorist act prevented in Kabardino-Balkaria

A high-explosive bomb has been discovered in the memorial of eternal light in Tirnauz, Kabardino-Balkaria, reports ITAR-TASS, citing press office of the republican Ministry for Internal Affairs.
“Explosion power of the device estimates at 1kg in TNT equivalent,” – a spokesman said. “Taking into account that this is a crowded place during the weekend, with highrisers near by and gas system, which supplies the eternal light, the explosion could lead to numerous casualties and destruction.”
According to the law-enforcement authorities the prevented terrorist act was aimed at destabilization of the situation in the republic.
