Board of Peace launched in Davos
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaU.S. President Donald Trump today launched his Board of Peace on Gaza. The signing ceremony was held in Davos, Switzerland, where the annual World Economic Forum bringing together global political and business leaders is taking place.
The signing ceremony attended by leaders of 17 countries, including President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
The Board of Peace has an appointed "founding Executive Board" comprised of U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff, Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, former U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair, billionaire financier Marc Rowan, World Bank Group president Ajay Banga and National security adviser Robert Gabriel.
According to Witkoff, as many as 25 countries have signed on to join Trump's "Board of Peace" for Gaza. The invitations have been addressed to some 60 nations.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said the Russian Foreign Ministry was studying the proposalб adding that Moscow would consult with its “strategic partners” before deciding whether to join.
