Israeli and US military officials discuss situation around Iran - Media

Israel's Chief of General Staff Eyal Zamir and Admiral Brad Cooper, head of US Central Command (CENTCOM), held a meeting in Israel, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on January 25.

"Admiral Brad Cooper, visited Israel as the official guest of the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir. The CENTCOM commander and the Chief of General Staff first held an extended one-on-one meeting. This was followed by a meeting in an expanded format",

the IDF Press Service reported.

The IDF noted that the recent talks were an additional step in enhancing the close strategic relationship between the IDF and US military, as well as strengthening defense cooperation between the two countries.

While details of the discussions were not disclosed, The Times of Israel reported that one of the topics addressed was coordination between Israel and the United States regarding the situation surrounding Iran.

This meeting follows earlier reports of disagreements between Israel and the US concerning the next steps in the Gaza ceasefire process.
