Azerbaijan and Syria increase trade ties 90-fold
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaFrom January to November 2025, bilateral trade reached $92 million, showing a 90-fold (9100%) rise from $1 million recorded in 2024.
The overall trade turnover was significantly biased toward Azerbaijani exports to Syria ($90.2 million – 98.56%). Imports from Syria to Azerbaijan amounted to $1.3 million.
The two main export destinations for Azerbaijan during the reporting period last year were:
natural gas – $87 million; hazelnuts – $3 million.Azerbaijan supplied approximately 254 million cubic meters of natural gas at a price of $342 per 1000 cubic meters, and nearly 300 tons of hazelnuts at an average price of $10.35 per kilogram.
Potatoes were primarily purchased from Syria, amounting to approximately 1,300 tons ($797,000).
