Riyadh rules out use of its territory for strikes against Iran
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaSaudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has assured Iran that the Kingdom will not permit its airspace or territory to be used for any military actions against Tehran, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The pledge was made during a phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, reinforcing Saudi Arabia's commitment to regional dialogue.
The Crown Prince affirmed the Kingdom’s position on respecting Iran's sovereignty during the call late Tuesday.
He explicitly stated that Saudi Arabia "will not allow the use of its airspace or territory in any military actions against the Islamic Republic of Iran or any attacks by any party, regardless of their destination."
The Iranian President, in turn, noted that Tehran welcomes any initiatives that would promote peace.
"Iran has always been ready to welcome any process leading to peace, tranquility and helping prevent wars and conflicts within the frames of international law on the basis of respect to the nation and state’s rights," Pezeshkian said.
Bin Salman reiterated Saudi support for "any efforts aimed at resolving disputes through dialogue in a manner that enhances security and stability in the region."
