Kazakh president to take part in 66th session of UN General Assembly

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev will speak at a high-level meeting on nuclear safety, which will be held from September 22 in New York, the official representative of Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Abdrakhmanov told the agency "Local News".

The current 66th session of the UN General Assembly opened on September 13. It is expected that at the current session will be dedicated to the problems on Middle East. Due to the chronic ineffectiveness of the Arab-Israeli negotiations, the participants of the meeting will initiate the issue of recognition of the independent Palestine.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is planning to hold a meeting on the safety of nuclear power plants on September 22 connected with the accident at the Japanese nuclear power plant in Fukushima, which occurred on March 11, 2011 and was caused by a tsunami.
