Iran to conduct military exercises in Strait of Hormuz
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaIran is preparing to conduct live-fire military exercises in the Strait of Hormuz, scheduled to begin this weekend.
According to Al Arabiya, the drills will commence on Sunday, February 1, and are expected to last for two days. The specific maneuvers to be practiced have not yet been announced.
The announcement comes just days after Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) renewed its threat to close the strategic strait, through which approximately 20% of the world's oil shipments pass.
This military activity follows Iran's pledge earlier today to deliver a "crushing response" to any attack, a statement made in reaction to recent threats from the US President.
