Iran is monitoring US aircraft carrier: Drone has conducted reconnaissance mission
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaAn Iranian drone carried out a reconnaissance mission this morning near the USS Abraham Lincoln in the Arabian Sea, according to Flightradar24 data.
The unmanned aerial vehicle was launched from southeastern Iran and flew over the Gulf of Oman toward the Arabian Sea, where the US aircraft carrier is currently positioned.
Satellite imagery indicates that the USS Abraham Lincoln is operating in the northern Indian Ocean, approximately 780 kilometres from the Iranian coast and 250 kilometres from the Omani city of Duqm.
This is not the first such incident since the USA deployed an aircraft carrier to the Middle East. In early February, an Iranian drone was shot down by a US F-35C fighter jet in the same region.
