Israel does not yet know if the main goal of this morning's attack on Iran - the assassination of Ali Khamenei and Masoud Pezeshkian - was achieved, but it has already been confirmed that several members of Iran's senior military and political leadership have been killed.

The two primary targets of the joint U.S.-Israeli strike on Iran this morning were the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and President Masoud Pezeshkian, Reuters reported, citing senior officers in Israeli intelligence.

Israel currently has no data on whether the U.S. and Israel succeeded in killing the Iranian leader and president.

However, Tel Aviv has confirmed that several secondary targets within the Islamic Republic's military and political leadership - commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and government officials - were killed in the initial missile strike.

Reuters sources described those killed as key figures in Iran's anti-Israel policy. At this time, Tel Aviv is not prepared to release the names of the slain Iranian commanders and officials.

For its part, the IRGC denies that its leadership has been killed.
