Russia does not recognize independence of Nagorno-Karabakh

Russia is actively cooperating with co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group (USA and France) to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Lukashevich commented on the elections in Nagorno-Karabakh of September 18, 2011, that they will continue efforts for a compromise, 1news.az reports.

Russia does not recognize the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic as an independent state. The elections in the region will not affect the peaceful process.
