UAE authorities demand unblocking of Strait of Hormuz
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe United Arab Emirates is preparing to provide military assistance to the United States in opening the Strait of Hormuz, The Wall Street Journal reported citing sources.
The move would make the UAE the first Gulf state to enter into combat following Iranian attacks against it.
"The Gulf state has also said the U.S. should occupy islands in the strategic waterway including Abu Musa, which has been held by Iran for a half-century and is claimed by the UAE," the report reads.
Head of the Iranian parliament’s national security committee Ebrahim Azizi said that the Strait of Hormuz will only reopen to those who comply with Iran's new laws.
"The Strait of Hormuz will be open for those who comply with the new laws of Iran. The 47 years of hospitality are over forever," Azizi said.
