Man stepped on mine in Sugovushan

On April 1, a mine incident occurred in Azerbaijan's Aghdere district, according to a joint statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office, and the Azerbaijani Mine Action Agency (ANAMA).

The explosion took place near the village of Sugovushan.

Makhir Maharramov, born in 1982, stepped on an antipersonnel mine while picking rose hips in an uncleared section of the former line of contact. He sustained an injury to his right leg.

The Tartar District Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the incident.
