Iranian Foreign Ministry denies Trump's ceasefire claims

Iran has dismissed as false US President Donald Trump's claim that Tehran requested a ceasefire.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said in an interview with Al Jazeera.

"Trump's claims that we requested a ceasefire are false",

Baghaei said.

US President Donald Trump previously stated that his Iranian counterpart, Masoud Pezeshkian, had asked the White House for a ceasefire.
