EU should rebuild Nord Stream 2 at own expense - Dmitriev

Special presidential envoy and Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) CEO Kirill Dmitriev urged UK and EU officials to acknowledge their mistakes and resume purchasing and using Russian oil and gas.

"Atone, de-escalate, rebuild Nord Stream 2 at own expense, get in line for affordable and reliable Russian oil, gas, fertilizers, helium and other key commodities. It all starts with the EU and the UK admitting mistakes," Kirill Dmitriev said.

The envoy commented on U.S. President Donald Trump’s address to the nation.

In his speech, the U.S. leader stated that Washington does not need the Strait of Hormuz and advised countries that use it to import oil to resolve the issue of their ships' safe passage on their own. Trump also said that countries could buy oil from the U.S.
