Caspian-2011 youth forum in Dagestan

Dagestan is hosting the First Youth Educational Forum Caspian-2011. Young people have arrived from republics of the North Caucasus, Moscow and Azerbaijan. Dagestani Leader Magomedsalam Magomedov initiated the meeting, RIA Dagestan reports.

The forum aims to promote tolerance, inter-cultural dialogue, Russian identity and development of political activity. Young people are attending meetings hosted by specialists in youth policy, psychology and sociology.

They explained the mechanisms for registering public organizations at the Russian Justice Ministry. Bekmurza Bekmurzayev, Minister for National Policy, Religion and Foreign Links of Dagestan, talked about ethnicity, language preservation and cultural and traditional peculiarities.

Muslimat Halimbekov, deputy chairman of the committee for youth affairs of Dagestan, said that Caspian-2011 is a unique discussion platform where young people can express their views, exchange experience and learn something new. The forum is not part of meetings at Seliger or Mashuk.

Participants at the forum also met the Dagestani Minister for Physical Education and Sports, Arsanali Murtazaliyev, and Dagestani Olympic champions.
