Police detain Mayor of Turkish Eşme

Turkish police have detained the mayor of Eşme, Yılmaz Tozan, along with his wife and three other suspects, TRT Haber reported.

The detentions were carried out as part of an extortion investigation led by the city prosecutor's office.

Police conducted searches of the Eşme municipal building, seizing digital materials that may be relevant to the case.

Police have also issued an arrest warrant for another suspect, who is currently being sought
