US temporarily easing sanctions against Russian oil

The USA has decided to temporarily ease sanctions on Russian oil, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced.

Restrictions on Russian oil supplies to certain countries are being lifted, with oil already loaded onto vessels granted exemption from sanctions, he said.

The US Treasury Secretary specified that the eased restrictions would remain in effect for 30 days.

According to Bessent, the move is aimed at stabilizing global energy market.
