SOCAR with Sonoco / Philips to exploration Mesozoic reservoirs in the North of Azerbaijan

SOCAR with Sonoco / Philips intends to explore the Mesozoic strata in the

northern part of Azerbaijan. The first vice-president of SOCAR

Khoshbakht Yusifzade said the problem with Mesozoic layers is that they

are difficult to detect because of their  different depths, reports

Turan.

"In some places it is 30 thousand meters, in some  3 or 5 thousand

meters, and some are just on the surface. We started the exploration

of these layers, but we had no money to continue. If foreigners want

to take it, we do not mind, but we require a plan of action ", he

said.

Yusifzade also noted that the exploration will include a 3D seismic survey.
