Azerbaijani President and European Commission President hold talks in Baku

President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan met with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Baku today, according to an official statement.

The two leaders held a one-on-one meeting before an expanded session with delegations.

After the talks, both officials made statements to the press.

Upon arrival in the Azerbaijani capital, von der Leyen had expressed confidence in a "bright future" for the South Caucasus and reiterated the EU's commitment to helping the region achieve it.
