Information on lost Russian tourists in Abkhazia proves false
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaMail.Ru reported about a young tourist couple, Alexander Vladimirovich and Olga Alexanderovna Dolgachyovs, from Voronezh missing in Abkhazia at 0.10 am. The couple was having a honeymoon at the Tsandripsh Village of Gargrsky District. Their parents reported that they were to visit Lake Ritsa. They lost contact, Max Portal reports.
Head of a border group of the Abkhaz State Security Service, Zurab Marganiya, said that the Russian tourists indeed enter Abkhazia on July 23, 2011. They left the state on July 31, Apsnypress reports.
The couple left Abkhazia on August 6, 2011, the official said.
The Abkhaz State Committee for Resorts and Tourism believes that false reports on missing tourists were made by ill-wishers. Deputy chairman of the state committee Vyacheslav Bartsits noted that more people are willing to visit the state in autumn.
Up to 3,000 people cross the border daily.
