Russian-Turkmen economic forum in Ashkhabad

Ashkhabad is hosting a Turkmen-Russian economic forum on September 28-30, organized by the countries' trade and industry chambers, the newspaper Neytralny Turkmenistan reported on Thursday.


Russia is interested in forming joint ventures in Turkmenistan. One of the most promising spheres for cooperation is development of the thermal-energy complex, transport infrastructure and communications, industry, construction and agriculture.


Russian regions, such as the Omsk, Chelyabinsk and Saratov Regions, are presenting economic projects. A set of bilateral deals will be signed with officials from Turkmen ministries and departments.


The Russian delegation is headed by the vice-president of the Trade and Industry Chamber, Alexander Rybakov, and includes officials from the Russian Presidential Administration, the Ministry for Economic Development, major companies and other organizations.
