Astana conference rounds up achievements of 20 years of independence

The “New Kazakhstan in new world: 20 years of Independence” international conference is being held in Astana today. Deputies of the Kazakh Senate, Chairman of the Committee for International Relations, Defense and Security Kuanysh Sultanov, Deputy Chairman of the People’s Assembly Yeraly Tugzhanov and Kamal Burkhanov MP, member of the Committee for International Relations, Defense and Security are taking part at the meeting.

Editor-in-Chief of Vestnik Kavkaza Alexey Vlasov,  Deputy Speaker and Chairman of the Kazakh-Turkmen inter-parliamentary commission for cooperation A. Zheenbekov and Director of the Institute for Sociology of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences I. Kotlyarov are guests from the CIS states.

Alexey Vlasov noted the role of the development of economic and political ties between Moscow, Astana and Baku. Presidents Heydar Aliyev and Nursultan Nazarbayev showed a clear path towards integration. Moscow is taking the same path. Russia and Kazakhstan are the promoters of integrational cooperation in post-soviet space.
