Swedish company Saab will supply GlobalEye reconnaissance aircraft to an unnamed Middle Eastern country under a contract worth just over $1 billion.

The aircraft are expected to be delivered by 2030. No further details have been disclosed.

The UAE Air Force currently operates five GlobalEye aircraft, and Saudi Arabia has also shown interest in the project.

The deal may be linked to the escalating tensions in the Middle East and Iranian attacks on US bases in the Gulf region.
