US adds tankers and entities to Iran sanctions list

The US has imposed sanctions on ten more tankers and entities linked to Iran, the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control said.

The new sanctions target ten entities and eight tankers involved in transporting oil and petroleum products from Iran through the Strait of Hormuz.

The companies are based in Iran, Hong Kong, and the Marshall Islands.

They are now prohibited from doing business with US citizens and companies, and any assets they hold in the USA will be frozen.
