Russian film director Tatiana Lioznova dies

Russian film director Tatiana Lioznova, famous for the Soviet television series, "Seventeen Moments of Spring," about the life of a secret agent, died on Thursday at the age of 87, RIA Novosti cites the Culture TV channel as saying.

Lioznova was born in Moscow and graduated from the director school of the All-Union State Cinematography Institute in 1949.

Her masterpieces, "Three Poplars in Plyushchikha" and "Seventeen Moments of Spring," enjoyed massive popularity all across the Soviet Union.
