U.S. President Donald Trump denied the U.S. was running low on munitions, saying the country has “massive amounts” of them, while warning of punishment for those who say there’s a shortage.

“The US has massive amounts of ‘munitions,’ especially of certain types,” Trump said.

He added on Truth Social that “defense companies are building the largest number of plants and factories in our country’s history.”

“Additionally, large amounts are being manufactured and shipped to the U.S. as needed. Defense companies are building the largest number of plants and factories in our country’s history,” Trump said.

The U.S. president also lashed out at the sources behind the media reports, warning that those responsible would face legal consequences.

Trump made the comments in a post on Truth Social hours after the Washington Post reported he had clashed with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over shortages of weapons such as long-range guided missiles and air-defense interceptors that threatened to limit his military options in the war with Iran.
