Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan boost trade

Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan grew by 37.2% in the first five months of 2026 compared to the same period last year, reaching $2.3 billion, according to the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs.

By the end of 2025, bilateral trade had risen by 16.2% to $4.8 billion, with Kazakh exports to Uzbekistan up 24.6% to $3.52 billion, the Chamber's chairman Kanat Sharlapayev said at the Kazakh‑Uzbek Business Forum in Tashkent.

During the forum, Uzbek company Glasfit Energy and Kazakhstan's Insulator and Fittings Plant signed a memorandum to increase supplies of Kazakh products to the Uzbek market.

The two countries are currently implementing 80 joint projects worth a total of $1.8 billion.
