The Israeli military has struck Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon in retaliation for Wednesday's explosion that killed two Israeli citizens, the Israel Defense Forces said.

"In response to yesterday's incident, in which Major (Res.) Harel Birenstock and Staff Sergeant (Res.) Tamir Vaknin were killed, and four IDF soldiers were seriously wounded in an explosion in the Majdal Zun area, over the past 24 hours the IDF attacked Hezbollah infrastructure in several different areas in southern Lebanon",

the IDF said.

The strikes hit ammunition depots, a command post, and other military infrastructure.

According to the IDF, Israeli troops continue to operate in the security zone in southern Lebanon in line with the agreement, and pledged to eliminate any threats to Israeli civilians and service personnel.
