Iran and Oman agree on service fees for ships passing through Hormuz

Iran and Oman have reached an agreement on service fees for ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz, with the fee depending on the volume of services provided by both countries, Fars news agency reported.

"Payments by ships will depend on many factors, including the volume of services we can provide",

Fars said, citing sources in the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

According to the sources, there is no disagreement between Tehran and Muscat over the fee amount, despite media reports citing figures of 3% or 7% of cargo value.

Under the agreements, the northern and southern corridors will remain open during the first phase, with ships entering through the Iranian corridor and exiting via the Omani route.
