Germany appoints new ambassador to Georgia

Barbara Voss has been named Germany's new ambassador to Georgia, the German Embassy in Tbilisi announced.

Voss previously served as consul in Kolkata, India, for three years. She has also held diplomatic posts in Israel, Nigeria, Tanzania, and at Germany's Permanent Mission to the UN.

She succeeds Peter Fischer, who had been ambassador to Tbilisi since 2022 and left the post in June this year.
