Obligatory carrying of driving license lifted in Georgia

The Georgian Interior Ministry has lifted obligatory carrying of driving license and the technical passport, Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili said in Tbilisi, ITAR-TAS reports.


Georgia is the first state with such initiative. The ministry clarified that the traffic police has computers with database.


Until now drivers were fined with $9 if they carry no driving license.
