Telavi receives 500,000 lari for disaster recovery

The Georgian government has allocated 500,000 lari to Telavi Municipality to help repair damage from last month's mudslide, the government administration said.

According to an order signed by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, the Ministry of Finance provided funds from the government's reserve fund to the Telavi Municipality.

On July 12, the Telaviskhevi River overflowed, flooding several streets. The city recorded 57.3 mm of rainfall, equivalent to 85% of the monthly average for July.
