Large gas field discovered in Iran

A gas field holding more than 212 billion cubic meters has been discovered in Iran’s southern Fars province, Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad said.

"More than 212 billion cubic meters of gas have been discovered at this field. Taking into account a recovery efficiency of approximately 73-75%, about 161 billion cubic meters can be produced," Paknejad said.

Along with gas, the field contains gas condensate, the Fars news agency reported.

According to Paknejad, the authorities are taking urgent measures to begin the development of this field as soon as possible.
